Historical Milestones

1927: Establishment of the Agronomic Research Institute of Romania (ICAR), which included the Rural Economics Section. (Royal Decree 1205/4.05.1927)

1930: First year in which the Rural Economics Section became operational.

1962: Transformation of ICAR into the Central Institute for Agricultural Research (ICCA), which included the Agricultural Economics Section. (Law 1/31.05.1962)

1967: Establishment of the Research Institute for Agricultural Economics within ICCA, through the transformation of the Agricultural Economics Section. (Council of Ministers Decision 2380/20.09.1967)

1969: Establishment of the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences through the transformation of ICCA, taking over its institutes, including the Research Institute for Agricultural Economics. (Decree 704/11.09.1969)

1976: Reorganization of the Research Institute for Agricultural Economics into the Institute of Agricultural Economics, with dual subordination to the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences and to the Central Institute for Economic Research. (Decree 426/27.12.1976)

1990: Reorganization of the Central Institute for Economic Research into the National Institute for Economic Research (INCE), operating temporarily under the authority of the Government. INCE included the Institute of Agricultural Economics, formed by the division of the former institute between ASAS and INCE. (Decree 10/2.01.1990)

1990: Transfer of INCE, and implicitly of the Institute of Agricultural Economics, under the authority of the Romanian Academy. (Government Decision 505/10.05.1990)
